Marathi wedding invitation (lagna patrika) wording
A Marathi lagna patrika follows an order that elders expect: the blessing of Shree Ganesh first, then the invitation from the family, the bride and groom with their parents, the muhurat, the venue and the names of the people inviting you. Getting that order right matters more than decoration.
Below are wordings you can copy as they are, an explanation of the honorifics, and a design you can open with the wording already filled in. Everything is free and there is no watermark on the video or the card.

- The bride as चि. सौ. कां. with her parents’ names, and the groom as चि. with his parents’ names.

- The venue (कार्यालय or lawns) with a landmark.
- Other functions such as हळद, सीमांत पूजन and स्वागत समारंभ, each with its own time.

What चि. सौ. कां. and चि. mean
चि. सौ. कां. stands for चिरंजीव सौभाग्यकांक्षिणी — a blessing for the bride, “may she live long and be blessed with a happy married life”. The groom is written as चि. (चिरंजीव, “may he live long”). Use them before the first name only, never both on the same person.
If the bride’s or groom’s father has passed away, families usually write कै. (कैलासवासी) before his name; it is respectful, not inauspicious, to include him.
Sending it on WhatsApp
Send the video three to four weeks before the wedding and a short reminder two days before. Call elders and close relatives first and send the video after the call — a forwarded video alone can feel impersonal to them.
Keep the muhurat time on the video exactly as the guruji has given it. Guests plan their arrival around the akshata during the मंगलाष्टके, so an approximate time causes confusion.

Common questions
How early should I send a Marathi wedding invitation?
Three to four weeks before the wedding for most guests, and six weeks for relatives who need to travel. Send a short reminder two days before the muhurat.
Can I make a bilingual Marathi and English invitation?
Yes. Write the invocation and names in Marathi and the venue in English, or the other way round — every field accepts both scripts.
Should I write कृपया आहेर आणू नये?
Only if you really do not want gifts. Put it as the message line at the end so it is clear but not the first thing guests read.
